Giacomo Balla

(Turin, 18 July 1871 Rome, 1 March 1958) was an Italian painter, sculptor, set designer and author of "paroliberi". He was among the first protagonists of Italian Divisionism. His creative activity was very intense in the early 1910s in terms of analysis of both dynamism and light, reaching a new phase of highly synthetic pictorial research in 1915. He then became a leading exponent of Futurism, signing, together with Marinetti and the other futurists, the manifestos that sanctioned the theoretical aspects of the movement.
