Bot (Barbieri Osvaldo Terribile)

Born in Piacenza in 1895, passed away in 1958, Osvaldo Bot (real name Osvaldo Barbieri, Bot is the acronym of Barbieri Oswaldo "Terribile") was a futurist painter of the second wave, linked above all to the Milanese environment, in the decade 1928-1938. His adherence to the futurist movement (after the appreciation received from Marinetti in 1929 who supported him in some Milanese exhibitions and in his editorial production) and his sympathy (more or less forced by the times and events) for fascism brought him to the fore in the twenty-year period with solo exhibitions at the Venice Biennials of 1930 and 1932, at the Roman Quadrennials and at the futurist exhibitions in Milan and Rome.
